The cold weather has not stopped construction on one site in Bladen County. The Emereau Charter School in Bladen County started clearing the land on Airport Road in Elizabethtown.

DeVane Builders, a local general contracting company in Elizabethtown, won the contract to help build the school according to the school’s board official. Currently, the land is being cleared on the 26 acre property.

The future educational site will be a work in progress, adding new grades every year until the facility can provide education for Kindergarten through 12th grade according to the officials. The school is scheduled to open this year and follow the year round schedule.

The lottery is currently open for grades K through 6th at the new charter school

“We began using the online lotteries. Our enrollment started the first Saturday in November 2016 and will run until the last Friday in February 2017,” Kate Alice Dunaway, Emereau Director.
