A ground breaking and construction celebration for Emereau:Bladen is planned for Tuesday, March 21, at 4 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. The ground breaking will take place at  995 Airport Road, Elizabethtown.

Kate Alice Dunaway, Director of Emereau Foundation, said members of the Elizabethtown Town Council, the Bladen County Board of Commissioners, and members of the Emereau:Bladen Board are all anticipated to attend.

The school will initially serve grades K-6 and add an additional grade each year until it becomes a K-12 school.  The goal is to have 308 students enrolled by opening day and currently, Dunaway said the school has received 200 applications.

The school is scheduled to open on August 1 and will operate on a year-round schedule. Enrollment applications can be picked up in the school’s office or submitted online via the school’s website. To access the enrollment application online, type the word “lotterease” into your web browser, click “parents,” click “login” and click “registration” and follow the instructions.

The school’s office is currently located on Broad Street in Elizabethtown. Office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 2 until 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
