East Bladen’s Emily Scott was on the field for pre-game ceremonies Thursday night at the National Football League’s Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, between the Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals.

Scott is one of 25 high school athletes who were selected as finalists for the U. S. Army-Pro Football Hall of Fame Award for Excellence. All of the finalists were on the field to participate in the coin toss before the game and they also participated in the halftime show.

The Award for Excellence winner will be announced Saturday at a luncheon in the Hall of Fame’s Event Center. San Diego Charger tight end Kellen Winslow and Kansas City Chief guard Will Shields will be the Hall of Fame ‘Gold Jackets’ on hand to present the award during a formal ceremony that will include the finalists and their families.

Emily is the daughter of Bryon and Judith Scott.
