The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is an organization created by the United States Congress for disabled military veterans of the United States Armed Forces which was created to help veterans and their families work through various benefits and programs. Commander David Brown announced the DAV Robert Curtis Hester Chapter, 99, along with the local business, Specialty Product Technologies (SPT) will host the first Disabled American Veterans Membership Drive.
The event will be held next Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the SPT grounds located on West Broad Street in Elizabethtown. The goal is to spread the word about DAV and gain more members to help veterans, according to Brown.
NCServes will be on site along with DAV Chapter Officers to help make any claims  veterans may need.  Veterans’ spouses will also receive assistance if needed during the drive, Brown stated.
It will begin at 9 a.m. and will end at 4 p.m. Food, such as hot dogs and hamburgers, will also be served along with refreshments. The address for Specialty Product Technologies is 2100 W Broad St, Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
