Upcoming EventsThere will be plenty to see and do in Bladen County this weekend.

Tonight, the Summer Sounds concert will take place at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market. The band North Tower will be taking the stage at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market in Elizabethtown from  6 until 9 p.m.  The event is free and is sponsored by by the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Cape Fear Valley-Bladen Healthcare.

On Saturday, July 14th, there will be a Breast Cancer Fundraiser for Deborah Powers Sealey which will begin at 11 a.m. at 269 Tar Heel Rd, Tar Heel, NC 28392 and will end at 3 p.m. All proceeds earned at the fund raiser will be going to Deborah Powers Sealey Cancer Fund. Each Grilled Chicken Plate will cost $7 and will consist of green beans, leg quarters, potato salad, roll, dessert and, sweet tea. Call (910) 862-5947 to place orders and delivery for up to 10 or more plates will be available. There will also be a Bikers Cruise and a Silent Auction, participates need to get their final bids in before 2 p.m. A Sweets Table will be available and will have cakes and many goodies.

On Saturday evening, The Blue & Silver Banquet will take place at the Faith Temple Evangelist Center in Clarkton with the famous gospel artist Euclid Gray. Tickets will cost $20 and dinner will be served but the number of seats will be limited for the event. To purchase the tickets or for more information please contact LoWanda at (910) 988-4475. If you enjoy golf, the Gates Four Golf Course and Country Club will be holding the first annual Wyatt Fisher Benefit Golf Tournament at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Entry fees for a single person will be $75 while teams will be $300. Beverages and food will be provided along with goody bags, green fees and, golf carts . Any checks must be payable and forms may be mailed to Candice Dowd at 11795 NC 41 West, Bladenboro, NC 28329.
