Upcoming EventsThere is plenty for Bladen County residents to see and do this weekend.

On Saturday, Dec 9, the Jones Lake State Park will be having a Discovery Hike. Participants will learn and discover why the environment is so unique and important. Those that are intending to go will need to meet at the Visitor Center at 10 a.m. Bug spray, water, and hiking shoes will be required for the hike and the event is free of charge and will be open to the public. On Sunday, Dec. 10, Bladen native Joe Hamilton will be at Lu Mil Vineyard at 4 p.m. to share his book, “Firepot Stories.” The book is packed with stories which originated in Bladen County. Copies of his book will be available and he will be available to sign copies of the book.

On Sunday evening, the Butters Baptist Church will be hosting a Live Nativity scene at 6 p.m. and again 7 p.m. The church is located at 1877 Berry Lewis Road, Bladenboro.
