This week there are several events for folks to enjoy. Things get started with three events on Thursday and two on Saturday.

On Thursday, from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Summer Jam will be taking place at the Lu Mil Vineyard with a 60s/70s theme with Albert Leach as the photographer. The host for this event is The Bladen County Division on Aging and Senior Center. If you plan on attending make sure you contact Carol Mitchell at 910-872-6331 and make your reservation for BARTS transportation.

At 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the Let’s Build a Better World as Habitat Fixer Uppers will be taking place at the Bladen County Library in Elizabethtown.

Thursday evening, from 6 to 9 p.m., the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Summer Sounds Concert Series at the Cape Fear Farmers Market in Elizabethtown. The concert will feature the Band of Oz.

On Saturday, the Mother County Genealogical Society (MCGS) will be meeting with Mr. Layton Dowless at the Bladenboro Historical Society Building.

The 19th annual Made in the Shade Open Car and Truck Show will also be taking place this Saturday. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and will cost $25 to enter. Dash plaques will be given out to the first 200 entries. At noon the judging will begin when each roll is full.
