This weekend will be a busy one for Bladen County residents with events scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, the morning begins with the First Annual Autism Awareness Festival which will be taking place at the Elizabethtown Middle School Athletics Field. The festival will be held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and will include fun activities such as rock painting, vendors, information booths and, a 1K Fun Walk for the whole family to enjoy!

In Bladenboro the Spring Fling will be taking place at the Bladenboro Farmers Market and from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. along with live entertainment at 1 p.m. BBQ sandwiches will be available for only $5 and BBQ plates for only $7. There will also be local vendors and a 50/50 Raffle Tix.

BladenOnline.com will be at both the Autism Awareness Festival and the Bladenboro Spring Fling distributing the latest issue of the Bladen County Beautiful magazine.

The Fundraiser for Coach Robbie Priest will be held Saturday as well. The event will be at the Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church Activity Center from from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Plates cost $8 each and will consist of barbecue, baked beans, slaw, rolls and dessert. You can eat-in or take out.

There will also be a silent auction during the plate sale. Silent auction items can be bid on from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. when the bidding will close.

The proceeds from this and other fundraisers will be given to Priest and his family to help with medical expenses.

On Sunday, the Bladen County Relay will be hosting their Annual Survivor Gala at the Love Baptist Church located in Tar Heel. The Gala will begin at 3 p.m. and will end at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to join including all cancer survivors and their caretakers. Pastor Ferguson of Mt. Zion AME Zion will be the keynote speaker  for the Gala.

This week the Clarkton Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church will be having their Spring Revival on April 8th through April 11th. Each night will have a different speaker including special singing by Mr. T.J. Tatum. This Saturday, April 8th, the service will begin at 6 p.m. with Rev. Johnny Guyton, pastor of Ammon PFWB Church. The Sandy Grove Baptist Church will be holding their Revival also on April 8th through April 11th. This Sunday, April 8th, services will be held at 11 a.m. and again at 6:30 p.m.
