The tenth year of the Clarkton Fall Festival to benefit Elf Angels Fund was fun for all. Every where you looked you saw smiles and people really enjoying themselves.

Ms. Debbie Heustess has been organizing the fundraiser to benefit local families in times of need for a decade now. She said the fund began with the name as the Needy Children’s Fund, but she felt the name needed to be changed because it didn’t fit well.

We asked what the Elf Angels Fund was all about. Ms. Debbie said our shirts say it all, “Touch everyone you meet with generosity and love. Let your light shine helping others one family at a time.”

Ms. Debbie said last year the fund was able to assist 90 children at Christmas, gave out bicycles and assisted with other needs throughout the year.

Ms. Debbie was quick to say, it takes a community to put it all together.

“I really can’t thank Jennifer Byrd, her family, my family and our sponsors enough. They have really helped pull this off,” Ms. Debbie said.

The youth have also helped us. Bladenboro Baptist Church, Clarkton Presbyterian Church and Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church all stepped up and helped with the games and volunteers.

“I don’t want to forget everyone who made a cake for our cake walk and every one who came out and participated.” Ms. Debbie said.

The Wing Tips Beach Band, McDonalds, Inc., Sunset Slush of Bladen County, Bounce Brothers Bounce Houses, Southeastern Health, Enchanting Fairytale Parties, Richmond Rentals, Brenden Jones, and Clarkton Drug were all sponsors of the local fall festival.
