A large tree fell across N.C. 53 shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday, knocking down a Four County EMC power line and blocking the road, according to reports.
The power line is entangled in the tree, making it impossible for crew to remove the tree from the road until the line is secured because of safety concerns.
Four County EMC linemen are on scene as our law enforcement and emergency management personnel. N.C. Dept. of Transportation has been contacted.
