RICHMOND, VA – East Bladen grad Farrell Murchison rushed for 77 yards on 12 carries Saturday night as his Winston-Salem State Rams defeated Virginia Union University 21-20.

Murchison broke free for a 16-yard gain to the Virginia Union 5 yard line in the first quarter that set up teammate Rod Tinsley’s 5-yard touchdown pass to Darren Dowdell two plays later.

In the third quarter Murchison gained 11 yards on 2 carries during a 76-yard Ram touchdown drive that tied the game 14-14. Later in the period Murchison raced 40 yards to the Virginia Union 17 yardline, but an intercepted pass ended that threat.
