DANVILLE, VA – Former East Bladen grad Farrell Murchison rushed for 84 yards Sunday to help lead his Louisburg Hurricanes to a 67-0 victory over the Averett University junior varsity.
Murchison rushed for 24 yards on Louisburg’s third touchdown drive that grew the Hurricane lead to 21-0 in the opening quarter. He broke loose for runs of 10, 11, 12 and 11 yards on Louisburg’s first drive of the second period that resulted in a Hurricane field goal.
Larrell Murchison, Farrell’s twin brother, assisted on two tackles from his position in the Hurricane defensive line. One of those tackles was for a 2-yard loss early in the second period.
The Hurricanes improved to 3-0 on the season and will travel to Newport News, VA Sunday for a 1 p.m. game against the Christopher Newport University jayvees.
