Thursday morning, a fatal crash took the life of White Oak, North Carolina resident, Mrs. Sara Dowd. According to North Carolina Highway Patrol First Sergeant Lewis, the wreck took place on North Carolina Highway 41 near Barnhill Road in Robeson County.

Daniel Robinson, a 27-year-old from Lumberton, was driving north on NC Hwy 41 when he crossed the center line striking a vehicle driven by Mrs. Dowd in the southbound lane.

The crash occurred around 8:43 a.m. on April 1, 2021. Robinson was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and taken to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office. Robinson was given a bond of $5,000 and released.

NCHP Trooper Locklear responded to the crash. Alcohol consumption is not believed to be related to the wreck.

Mrs. Dowd was a Pharmacist in Lumberton and a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend.
