JohnJJohn Owen Jacobs was found guilty in Bladen County Superior Court today after a week-long jury trial for one count of First-Degree Sexual Offense with a Child Under the age of 13, which occurred on April 25, 2013 in Bladenboro, NC.

On that date, John Jacobs committed a sexual offense with an eleven year-old girl at his residence. The victim reported the crime to her teachers at school, who then informed the proper authorities at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Department and the Bladen County Department of Social Services.

Jacobs, 44 was found guilty of one count of First-Degree Sexual Offense with a Child Under the age of 13. He was sentenced as a level five felon to 420-564 months in the Department of Adult Corrections.

Investigators Sue Lutz, with Bladen County Sheriff’s Office worked diligently to procure all necessary evidence for a successful prosecution of this case. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Daniel Thurston and Irene Graham Riel.
