The final defendant charged in the 2015 shooting death of Darrell Dionte Council will soon face trial.
Attorney Gregory Bullard, who is representing Christopher James Baldwin, appeared in Bladen County Superior Court on Monday and a trial date of September 24th was set.
Baldwin is facing charges of murder, two counts of felony conspiracy, one count of attempted first degree murder, and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle in operation.
Darrell Dionte Council was shot in November 2015 near the intersection of Center Road and Twisted Hickory Road. According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, Council and his brother were sitting in a vehicle at a stop sign when two men approached the vehicle and started shooting.
Council attempted to drive away from the scene and crashed into a ditch. His brother was not injured and left the vehicle to get help.
