A fire threatened several structures on Tuesday afternoon on NC 131. The fire destroyed a building behind a home but no injuries were reported and no homes were damaged. The building was a complete loss.
The roadway was closed to traffic for a period of time as fire crews worked to extinguish the fire.
Responding to the call were the Bladenboro, Elizabethtown, Dublin and North Whiteville Fire Departments, and Bladen County Emergency Services. The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Highway Patrol assisted with traffic control.
