Bladen Community College just announced: In anticipation of inclement weather and in the consideration of the stand-by status of first responders in the community, the First Responders Career Night event scheduled for tonight (Sept. 17th) on campus is canceled.
DUBLIN,NC–NC WORKS and the Lumber River Workforce Development Board will be hosting a networking event, First Responders Career Night on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 5pm until 7pm at Bladen Community College in Dublin NC. If you are interested in joining the ranks of law enforcement, EMS, firefighters, wildlife officers or becoming a public safety administrator, then this event is for you! First responder agency representatives will be participating in a special networking event hosted by NC Works and Lumber River Workforce Development Board. Attendees will learn more about these careers, salaries, benefits and the requirements of the fields. “Individuals who are looking for a new career or may already be a first responder will be able to find out what employment opportunities are available and how that can be of service to the community. NCWORKS career advisors will be on hand to assist in getting you started in the right direction. Financial assistance will be available for those who qualify,” said Gabrilla Ann Garret, Center Manager, NCWorks Career Center of Bladen County.
Dr. Amanda Lee, President of Bladen Community College added, “we welcome NCWorks and the Lumber River Workforce Development Board to our campus and encourage interested individuals to come out to the First Responders Career Night to learn more about various careers in law enforcement, rescue and public service. Patrol and emergency vehicles will be on display in our parking area with first responder agency representatives available to answer questions.”.
