AprilWeatherAccording to the National Weather Service office in Wilmington, April is starting off with a bit of a chill in the air.

According to the National Weather Service, sunshine with a cooling trend will mark the first half of the week, as a dry cold front sweeps across the coast early Tuesday. After a very chilly start Wednesday at sunrise, a brief warming trend will follow into the afternoon and Thursday, ahead of an approaching and strong cold front. A few thunderstorms and numerous showers will arrive Thursday preceding the front, which moves offshore Thursday night. Unseasonably cold, unsettled, and showery weather will prevail Friday and Saturday. Blustery northwest winds and temperatures deep in the 30s may kick off Saturday, and more freeze watches are not out of the question. Stay tune as forecast temperatures are subject to plus or minus changes.

Freeze Watch/Warnings or Frost Advisories will likely be needed for early Wednesday and again this weekend, when even colder, sub-freezing air potentially arrives.
