Five people were arrested in December on drug-related charges, according to a release from the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office and Elizabethtown Police Department.

On Dec. 11, Africa Currie, Anthony Smith and Cequel Stephens were charged with possession of cocaine, which is classified as a Schedule II controlled substance. Smith also was charged with felony probation violation and resisting, delaying and obstructing arrest after leading investigators on a short chase on foot.

Smith bail was set at $55,000, Currie at $5,500 and Stephens at $5,000.

On Dec. 31, officers from the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, Elizabethtown police, and N.C. Probation Office searched a residence at 1381 Marshall Road, and charged Christian Brisson and Hali Lennon with possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation. Brisson’s bail was set at $100,000 and Lennon’s at $76,000.
