A five vehicle crash involving a “bobtail” truck, an SUV and three vehicles slowed the morning commute on Wednesday on NC 53 near White Oak. Several individuals were transported to Cape Fear Valley-Bladen Healthcare with minor injuries, according to Bladen County Fire Marshal Kenneth Clark.
Clark said the “bobtail” truck was traveling towards Elizabethtown on NC 53. A school bus was stopped and a car had stopped behind the bus. Clark said the truck tried but failed to stop in time and rear-ended the vehicle and then the truck struck three more vehicles before coming to rest.
One vehicle overturned after being struck, said Clark. The bus was not involved in the crash and traveled on to the school.
Clark said minor injuries were reported in the crash. The names of the crash victims and charges were not immediately available at press time. Stay with BladenOnline.com for more details as they become available.
