Five West Bladen Lady Knights – Carley Dawson, Sophia Singletary, Laikyn Pait, Logan Autry and Conner Brisson -have been named to the North Carolina Softball Coaches Association Class 2A All-State Softball Team.

For Pait it was her third straight selection to the Class 2A All-State team. For Singletary and Autry it was their second consecutive selection to the All-State squad.

All five of West Bladen’s All-State selections were also named to the District 4 Class 2A All-District Team along with teammate Kassidy Anderson. For Anderson and Pait, it was their third year in a row to receive All-District 4 honors.

For Singletary and Autry it was their second consecutive year to be named to the All-District 4 club.

For the second year in a row Singletary was named the District 4 2A Pitcher of the Year. The senior righthander posted a 15-4 record with a 1.47 Earned Run Average and fired 6 shutouts. She struck out 40 in 95 innings in the circle while walking 16.

Dawson was named the District 4 Class 2A Player of the Year. The sophmore thirdbaseman batted .500 for the season as the Lady Knights recorded a 20-4 record. She slugged 3 home runs, drove in 32 runs and scored 36 runs. Dawson compiled a slugging percentage of .772 and an on-base percentage of .554.

Pait batted .412 and walloped 3 home runs and 7 doubles with 28 runs scored and 19 runs batted in. The senior firstbaseman posted a .647 slugging percentage and a .459 on-base percentage. At first base Pait led the team in total chances (133) and put-outs (123) with a fielding percentage of .985.

Autry batted .391, scored 23 runs and racked up 27 hits in 23 games. The senior centerfielder had an on-base percentage of .408, stole a team-high 12 bases and compiled a .933 fielding percentage with 4 outfield assists.

Brisson led the Lady Knights with a .516 batting average, drove in 23 runs and scored 23 runs. The sophmore shortstop had an on-base percentage of .507 and a slugging percentage of .629.

Anderson batted .377 and scored 26 runs from her lead-off slot in the West Bladen batting order. The senior secondbaseman posted a .470 on-base percentage and a .405 slugging percentage. She had a .933 fielding percentage with 58 chances, 31 put-outs and 23 assists.
