Some folks who attend the White Oak Family Worship Center spread some Christmas cheer in Elizabethtown on Tuesday evening as they decided to surprise some unsuspecting folks with a Christmas Flash Mob.

“It was fun,” said Sandy White, one of the flash mob members.

He said 20 people took part in the flash mob that sang Christmas carols at the businesses they entered.

White said the idea began as the church was planning their Praise Team Christmas party. He said they discussed the idea briefly and then during the party they decided to do it.

“We decided we wanted to go out on a limb and try it,” said White.

White said the group arrived first at Giorgios and sang to wait staff and surprised diners. When they left Giorgios, White said the group headed for Walmart and then the final stop for the flash mob was Food Lion.

White said reactions of those in the stores and restaurant were positive.

“When we first started signing, they would act startled, then the people stopped and listened,” said White.

He added, “It was as much of a blessing for us as it was for them.”

White said the group was joined by Pastors Sue and Bill Tatum.
