SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion will offer its “Food Lion To-Go” grocery pick up service beginning Monday, April 15, at its location at 1202 West Broad St., Elizabethtown, N.C. 28337.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at each location at 8:45 a.m. on April 15, and to help introduce customers to this new service, Food Lion is offering shoppers their first pickup for free.

The launch of this new, convenient service enables Food Lion to continue to deliver on its promise to ensure an easy, fresh and affordable grocery shopping experience, and it allows customers to order and pick up their groceries in as little as an hour.

“We are so excited to bring this option to our Elizabethtown store,” said Jimmy Jones, director of operations for the Wilmington area at Food Lion. “This new service gives our area customers another way to make their shopping experience easier as we continue our longstanding heritage of low prices and affordability.”

Food Lion wants to give both local residents and visiting vacationers the option to shop through the channel they prefer: in-store or online. The company expanded this new service to the community earlier this week highlighting Food Lion’s commitment to making grocery shopping easy and personable. With the click of a button, Food Lion To-Go allows customers to experience the same low prices and fresh food items without having to ever enter a store. The online service lets customers fill a virtual cart with the grocery items they need and schedule a pick-up time that works for their schedule, truly putting the “easy” in easy, fresh and affordable.

How Food Lion To-Go Works

Customers can visit www.foodlion.com/togo, enter one of the participating zip codes, and select the closest participating store. Next, they may add items to a virtual cart. Once they are done filling their cart, customers can check out and pick a day and hour window they want to pick the groceries up in and proceed to check out. A trained Food Lion associate will then accept the order and prepare it at the store for the customer’s designated pick up timeframe. Upon arrival, To-Go shoppers may park in the designated parking area, where a dedicated Food Lion associate will deliver their order directly to their car. Food Lion To-Go is available seven days per week from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
