WILMINGTON — Demond Perry ran for two touchdowns and Alton Broyles returned an interception for a score Saturday night as the Carolina Bengals defeated the Charlotte Bengals 42-14 in a Coastal Football Alliance game at Legion Stadium.

It was the 2023 fall season home opener for Carolina, which is based in East Arcadia.

Larrell Murchison, who graduated from East Bladen High School and currently is a defensive lineman for the Los Angeles Rams participated in the coin toss.

Carolina is 1-1 after losing its season opener March 11 at the Carolina Spartans 37-0. The Bengals are scheduled to host the South Carolina Venom at Legion Stadium on Saturday, March 25.

April 1: Virginia Royals, Legion Stadium, 7 p.m.
April 15: at North Carolina Rebels, Richlands High School, 7 p.m.
April 22: Carolina Raiders, Legion Stadium, 7 p.m.

May 6: at Virginia Royals, Charles City High School, 7 p.m.
May 13: North Carolina Rebels, Legion Stadium, 7 p.m.
