ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen unleashed a three-pronged ground attack Friday night that racked up 459 yards rushing and 503 yards of total offense as the Eagles rolled to a 48-6 Three Rivers Conference football victory over West Columbus.

Senior ZaQuis Leach led the Eagle attack rushing 10 times for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns. Junior RaSean McKoy gained 94 yards and scored a touchdown on 9 carries. Senior fullback Kasey Price scored 2 touchdowns and picked up 87 yards on 10 rushes.

Leach opened the scoring bolting 20 yards to pay dirt at the 8:53 mark of the first period. Senior Gabe Barber nailed the first of six extra point kicks for a 7-0 East Bladen lead.

Price banged through the line on a 13-yard touchdown run with 4:50 on the first quarter clock. Barber’s conversion kick boosted the Eagle lead to 14-0.

With 51 seconds left in the period, senior quarterback Tayshaun Berkeley hurled a 44-yard touchdown pass to junior tight end Zylique Lewis that grew the margin to 21-0 after Barber tacked on the point.

Leach dashed 15 yards for his second touchdown of the night 9:22 before halftime. Barber converted again to extend the East Bladen lead to 28-0.

RaSean McKoy closed out the first half scoring for the Eagles with a 26-yard touchdown sprint 1:17 before intermission. Barber made it 5-5 on first half conversions to push the halftime lead to 35-0.

Sophomore quarterback Keonta McKinney sneaked one yard with 56 seconds remaining in the third quarter to put the Vikings on the board and trim the margin to 35-6.

Back came the Eagles as Price powered into the end zone from 6 yards out only 13 seconds into the final period. The conversion failed but East Bladen led 41-6.

Senior Adrien Lofton plowed into the end zone from a yard out for the final Eagle touchdown with 2:35 left. Barber booted the point for the final 48-6 score.

Junior Lawson Hester carried 5 times for 49 yards for the winners. Berkeley’s touchdown throw to Lewis was Berkeley’s only passing attempt of the game. Senior Desyias McKoy gained 28 yards for the Eagles on 4 rushes.

Junior workhorse Jordan Williams ran for 156 yards on 25 carries to lead the Viking attack. McKinney completed 7 of 13 passes for 92 yards but had 2 passes intercepted.

Coach Robby Priest’s Eagles evened their conference record at 2-2 and improved to 2-4 overall. East Bladen will host Fairmont (3-1, 4-2) on Friday night.
