Red Springs (2-0) at East Bladen (2-1)

East Bladen will celebrate Homecoming Friday night against league-leading Red Springs. A pair of late St. Pauls’ touchdowns handed the Eagles their first loss of the season 36-22 Friday night.

Senior Rasean McKoy carried 30 times and racked up 176 yards and a touchdown against St. Pauls For the season McKoy has rushed for 522 yards and has scored 6 rushing touchdowns.

Junior Javius Brooks has 200 rushing yards for the season. Quarterback Zach Meares passed for 109 yards and a touchdown in the St. Pauls game. Junior Nazier Smith caught the 35-yard touchdown pass.

The Eagles had recorded wins of 35-21 over South Columbus and 50-12 over Fairmont prior to the St. Pauls game.

Red Springs has posted wins of 41-0 over Fairmont and 6-0 over Whiteville in a defensive battle last week. Junior Eddrick James broke loose on a 45-yard touchdown run for the only score in the game. James finished with 95 yards rushing on 15 carries. Junior Angel Washington added 54 yards rushing for the Red Devils.

The Red Devil defense has yet to allow a point in two games.

A victory over Red Springs would keep East Bladen solidly in the race for the conference title.
