East Bladen (4-2) at West Bladen (0-5)

The high school football concludes Friday night with the annual county rivalry as East Bladen travels to West Bladen.

Coach Robby Priest’s Eagles have won their last 2 games and Monday night outscored Whiteville 47-43 as senior Rasean McKoy rushed for 177 yards and 3 touchdowns. For the season McKoy has piled up 994 yards rushing and 11 rushing touchdowns.

Junior Raymond Autry, Jr. ran for 117 yards and 3 touchdowns against Whiteville as the Eagles rushed for 360 yards. Senior quarterback Zach Meares threw for 51 yards including a 16-yard touchdown pass to junior Javius Brooks and a 32-yard completion to senior Javant McDowell.

Senior linebacker Josh Hayes leads the Eagle defense with 79 tackles. McKoy had the game-saving interception against Whiteville with 5 seconds left to play.

The Knights held halftime leads in 2 of their first 3 games against Fairmont and West Columbus, but both opponents rallied behind quick, elusive quarterbacks to overcome the West Bladen leads.

Last week the Knights dropped a 48-8 decision to St. Pauls. Senior ShyRon Adams returned a kickoff 94 yards for the West Bladen touchdown. For the season Adams has caught 6 passes for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Knight quarterback Devon Strange has thrown for 406 yards and 6 touchdowns and has rushed for 93 yards. Junior Demarius Robinson has caught 5 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown.

Sophomore Gary Parker leads the ground game having rushed for 259 yards and 5 touchdowns. Robinson has rushed for 164 yards. Javonta Matthews leads the defense with 2 pass interceptions and returned one of them 67 yards for a touchdown.
