An educator with ties to Bladen County Schools has been selected to lead Pinecrest High School in Moore County. Stefanie Phillips served as Assistant Principal at the school before being named as principal.

Phillips has also held various positions in Scotland and Bladen County Schools. She was a Specialist for Science and Healthful Living in the district office, a Principal at Aberdeen Elementary School, and she was a former teacher at Pinecrest and West Bladen High School.

Phillips, will officially begin as principal Monday, July 23, when the current principal, Bob Christina, resigns to pursue retirement. According to reports, the interview process included input from students, staff, parents and the school improvement team.

Phillips has earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Science Education and a Master of School Administration degree, all from UNC-Pembroke. She is the daughter of G. C. and Linda Bryan.
