Four Bladen County Commissioners attended the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) 2017 Annual Conference held August 10-13, 2017 in the Durham Convention Center in Durham. The conference was very informative.
A feature of the conference was the Youth Voice “Real Colors” Training. Additionally, Sue Klebold, mother of Columbine High School shooter Dylan Klebold, was the guest speaker during the youth’s general session, entitled “Reaching for Hope.” She gave a stirring speech.
Ms. Shonita Hayes of Council an upcoming senior at East Bladen High School was Bladen County’s youth representative. She attends Kitchen Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Council. Commissioners attending the conference were Arthur Bullock, M. George Cogdell, Ophelia Munn-Goins and Ashley Trivette.
