BaseballTwo players from West Bladen and two players from East Bladen have been named to the All-Four County Conference Baseball Team.

The Bladen selections on the All-Conference team were West Bladen seniors Trevor Lesane and Colby McLean and East Bladen junior Alex Coates and sophomore Kyle Tatum.

Lesane patrolled center-field for the Knights and batted a blistering .636 (7-11) to spark the Knights play-off run during the final week of the regular season. Lesane was the leading hitter on the West Bladen team.

McLean anchored the Knight defense from his catching position. “Colby has a tremendous arm and great athletic ability behind the plate,” said Knight Coach Kim Cain. “He is like 1.9-2 seconds throwing to second base.”

Coates pitched a perfect game at Wallace-Rose Hill on April 13 and was the ace of the East Bladen pitching staff.  He also pitched another key victory against Wallace in the final week of the season.

Tatum was solid behind the plate for the Eagles and was also one of the team’s better hitters. Tatum hammered 3 triples during the final week of the season as the Eagles reached the play-offs.
