VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Former East Bladen star Freddy Wooten turned in a strong pitching performance Saturday, but Bryant & Stratton College rallied against the Southeastern Community College bullpen to claim a 4-2 Region X baseball victory.

Wooten allowed only 2 runs – 1 earned – on 7 hits and a walk while striking out 9 in his 6 innings of work, but the Bobcats snapped a 2-2 tie with 2 runs in the 7th inning.

In Friday’s series opener, Wooten batted 2-for-3, stole a base, scored 3 runs and drove in a run as the Rams rolled to a 10-1 victory. Southeastern also cruised to a 14-4 victory in the series finale Sunday.

Wooten closed out a 6-1 Ram victory over Brunswick Community College Wednesday pitching 3 scoreless innings and allowed only 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 3.

Brady Hollingsworth, another East Bladen grad, singled and drove in 2 runs in the Wednesday win.

SCC, now 7-13 in Region X play and 13-22 overall, will return to action Wednesday with a doubleheader scheduled for 1 p.m. at Brunswick Community College.
