ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. – Canning season is upon us!

NC Cooperative Extension wants to help ensure you are canning and preserving your foods safely by providing a free introduction to canning class on Thursday, April 21 st, from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, at the Bladen County Public Library.

This workshop is designed for those who wish to learn about canning as a home food preservation method. This session introduces canning methods and discusses best practices for safe and quality home-canned products. This course will prepare you for boiling water and pressure canning!

If you have a pressure canner and would like to have the dial gauge checked for accuracy before or after the class, bring your canner lid with you! Brands that can be tested at our office include National, Magic Seal, Maid of Honor, and Presto.
