The National Weather Service has canceled a freeze watch for Bladen County that had been issued for overnight that had been issued Thursday morning.
Freezing temperatures are not expected to pose a widespread threat Thursday evening and into Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Sheltered areas and swampland may approach freezing
temperatures for a couple of hours before sunrise on Friday, but this brief period of near-freezing temperatures is not expected to pose a significant impact to agricultural interests.
The watch had called for freezing temperatures as low as 32 degrees possible for Bladen County, Robeson County and inland Pender County along with South Carolina counties Darlington, Dillon and Marlboro.
A freeze watch means there is a potential for temperatures to fall to 32 degrees or lower. A freeze warning is issued when significant, widespread freezing temperatures are expected.
