As light rain develops overnight (after midnight), surface temperatures will still be below freezing in a few northern communities across Marlboro, Robeson, Bladen, and Pender counties. Confidence in amounts remains low, so no winter weather advisory was issued yet, and this will be addressed by the incoming day shift, but the potential exists for a few hundredths of an inch of freezing rain late tonight into Wednesday morning.

With soil temperatures still near 50, accretion would likely be limited to bridges/overpasses, sidewalks, and other elevated surfaces.

Here’s the latest weekly weather outlook, a potential for freezing rain is on the horizon, for Thursday night and early Friday: WeekendBriefing
