The N.C. Aquarium Chapter of FrogWatch USA has scheduled two-day training for adults interested in becoming volunteers for FrogWatch USA.

The sessions are set for June 20-21 at Jones Lake State Park, 4117 NC 242 North, Elizabethtown.

FrogWatch USA volunteers conduct listening sessions in order to report observations of frogs and toads calling.

Here is the schedule:

Friday, June 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Participants are introduced to calls of local frog and toad species, learn FrogWatch protocols for data collection, and investigate the value/impacts of frog and toad call data. Participants are encouraged to bring a low/zero-waste lunch and reusable water bottle.

Saturday, June 21, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Participants apply their knowledge and practice FrogWatch protocols in a mock listening session.
