Bladen County is about to smell a whole lot better—and tastier—this May as the Bladen County Extension hosts a two-part workshop that takes herbs from the garden straight to your kitchen. Whether you’re a green-thumbed gardener or a pesto-passionate foodie, “Herbs: Garden to Kitchen” is the perfect opportunity to dig in.
Held at the Bladen County Extension office at 450 Smith Circle in Elizabethtown, this two-session series is designed to help participants grow, care for, and use culinary herbs like a pro.
Session 1: Plant It, Grow It, Love It
-
📅 Tuesday, May 13
-
🕙 10 AM – 12 Noon
Get your hands dirty (in the best way possible) with a session focused on growing, caring for, and harvesting herbs. Plus, attendees will receive seedlings to take home, ensuring the learning doesn’t stop when the session does.
Session 2: Preserve It, Plate It, Eat It
-
📅 Tuesday, May 20
-
🕙 10 AM – 12 Noon
Now that your herbs are thriving, it’s time to talk flavor. This session covers uses and preservation techniques, and includes a live pesto demonstration—because nothing says “I’m a garden genius” like homemade pesto.
