By Cara Beth Lewis

On Saturday, July 31st, at Open Door Ministries, various activities are set to take place in honor of Joan Carroll Skipper. Registration for the Bike Ride will begin at 8:30 a.m. and “Kickstands Up” at 10 a.m. The cost to ride a single is $20, or $30 for a double.

The barbecue chicken plate sale will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is $8 per plate. This is also located at Open Door Ministries.

A silent auction will take place the whole week leading up to the event. Various door prizes donated by local businesses will be available.

“We would like to thank all of the businesses so far that have participated and donated. Joan Carroll is someone who has always given back to the community and this is a wonderful opportunity to pay it forward. We have been overwhelmed with the support of the community. It is amazing to see everyone come together to help such a wonderful person.”

Open Door Ministries is located at 2704 E. Broad St. in Elizabethtown.
