Spread the love

By Erin Smith

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser for Teen Challenge is set for Saturday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Windsor United Methodist Church in Ammon. Teen Challenge recently announced they were locating a facility for women in the Ammon community in Bladen County.

Volunteers are trying to raise the $35,000 needed in order to be able to occupy the property. The property is located on Lula Long Road in Ammon.

The items for the silent auction currently include but are not limited to different types of cakes, party lite candles and candle holders. It is anticipated there will also be quilts and wall hangings and wooden art items.

All proceeds from the dinner and silent auction will go support Teen Challenge and their efforts to establish a program in Bladen County.

For those who are unfamiliar with Teen Challenge, it is a long-term, faith-based residential program for women.  A typical stay with Teen Challenge is 12 to 15 months. The proposal for Teen Challenge in Bladen County is to house 12 women between the ages of 18 and 40 and there will be a staff member on the premises at all times.

Members of the community can sponsor a student during her stay with Teen Challenge. If you would like to sponsor a student or become a Tree of Life member (monthly donor), contact Albemarle Teen Challenge for more information.

Teen Challenge is a non-profit 501(c)3 company so any contributions are tax deductible.

If anyone would like to donate money or anything for the silent auction, contact Amy Munn at 910-990-7661. The church is located at 12863 NC-242, Elizabethtown, N.C.
