fundraiserA benefit bike ride is planned Saturday, October 8, for 8-month-old JT Higgs who has been recently diagnosed with Leukemia. He is the son of Jacobe Higgs and Kelsey Cox.

The ride will meet at the National Guard Armory located at 1001 West Swanzy Street in Elizabethtown. Registration for the ride will take place from 9 a.m. until 10:45 and kickstands up at 11 a.m. Cost is $20 for single rider and $25 for double rider. This includes meal. Plate sale will feature Boston Butts and plates cost $7 each.

There will also be a 50/50 drawing, raffle, auction, door prizes and cake walk. Trophies will be awarded for Best In Bike, Best Female Biker and Best Male Biker.

There will also be Bounce Houses for children. Wrist bands are $5 each.

T-shirts can also be pre-ordered from Courtney Dorsett at 910-759-9099, Christie Merritt at 910-874-6720. The cutoff date for T-shirt orders is Sept. 30. Shirts cost $15 each. There will be a limited number of shirts available the day of the event.

There will also be a raffle for a diamond Infinity necklace donated by Fowlers Jewelry of Elizabethtown. Raffle tickets are $1 and can be purchased by calling 910-862-1406. The drawing will be held on Oct. 8 at the bike ride and plate sale. You do not have to be present to win he necklace.

All proceeds for the event will go to help JT Higgg and his family.
