Friends of Marvin and Marsha Burney are sponsoring a fundraiser at the Clarkton School of Discovery on Saturday, February 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Marvin has suffered from kidney problems for many years and recently his body began to reject his third kidney. The first kidney transplant was donated by his wife, Marsha. The second was from an anonymous donor.
Marvin is back at Duke and will be on dialysis, again.
Marvin and Marsha have long been huge supporters of youth activities in the area, particularly Dixie Youth baseball in the Clarkton area. Marsha has written for BladenOnline and still covers CSD sporting events.
To show their love and affection for the couple, friends will be selling BBQ plates on Valentines Day and everyone is invited and encouraged to enjoy delicious food and support the Burneys in their time of need. Donations will be accepted.
