LUMBERTON – Galeed defeated a couple of Bladen County rivals Saturday night to capture the Lumber River Church Softball League Tournament Championship.

In Saturday’s opening game Galeed defeated Dublin 20-3 to advance to the title game. Dublin was the league’s regular-season champion.

The Hickory Grove Women eliminated Dublin as they claimed their fourth consecutive victory. After opening the tournament with a loss, Hickory Grove defeated Hyde Park Thursday then posted victories over Broadridge and Antioch on Friday night.

Galeed, the regular-season runners-up, defeated Hickory Grove 32-11 in Saturday’s championship game.
