An overcast morning gave way to bright sunny, skies and warm temperatures as folks gathered at the Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Garland for opening ceremonies.
Mayor Winifred Murphy welcomed everyone and thanked those who helped to plan the event.
“This year it is more special because of the involvement of our youth,” said Mayor Murphy.
The event was we’ll attended.
There were games, bounce houses and more to entertain folks.
A street dance was held later in the evening.
