News reports say Hurricane Harvey has caused the pipeline carrying gasoline to the east coast to shut down. This seems to have Bladen County folks heading to the pumps to top off their tanks.

There were long lines at the Go Gas in Elizabethtown according to Tonya Bockover. Go Gas has unleaded fuel at $2.19 while the same type of gas is $2.45 at the Carolina Petro on Thursday, the last day of August in 2017, Bockover reported.

If the national news reports are correct, our local gas prices will only continue to rise. Fuel up before you head out.
