CLINTON – Mikayla Boykin bombed in seven 3-point shots and rang up 38 points to lead Clinton to an 88-40 Four County Conference girls basketball victory over West Bladen Friday night.

Boykin poured in 13 points in the first quarter as Clinton raced to a 30-11 lead.

Senior Jerena Purdie powered inside for a trio of baskets and a free throw for the Lady Knights. Senior Laikyn Pait pumped in a basket, and junior Patience Parker sank 2 free throws.

Boykin nailed a pair of 3-point shots, and teammate Ashlyn Williams made 7 of 8 free throws as the Lady Dark Horses stretched their lead to 54-24 at halftime.

Pait tossed in a pair of baskets and a free throw for West Bladen in the period. Senior Akira Grimes popped in a pair of baskets, and Purdie worked the paint for a basket and 2 free throws.

Boykin buried a trio of 3-balls in the third quarter as the Lady Dark Horses widened the gap to 75-32.

Purdie battled inside for 2 baskets and 2 free throws for West. Pait threw in another basket in the third, then added a basket and a free throw in the final period.

Senior Logan Autry canned 2 free throws and a basket in the fourth quarter, and Parker hit a free throw.

Purdie topped the West Bladen scoring with 17 points, and Pait followed with 12 points.

Alex Canady followed Boykin with 22 points for Clinton, and Williams totaled 18 points.

West Bladen is now 7-5 in the league and 11-11 overall. The Lady Knights will host Midway Tuesday night.
