Senior Lacey Suggs posted a double-double of 12 points and 15 rebounds Friday night to lead the East Bladen Lady Eagles to a 48-37 Four County Conference girls basketball victory at Wallace-Rose Hill.

Suggs also dished out 5 assists and connected on 8 of 12 free throws in the game. Freshman Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson tossed in 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds for the Lady Eagles.

Freshman Ashley Hardin pulled down 12 rebounds and fired in 8 points for the winners. Senior Christiana Cromartie filled the stat sheet with 6 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 blocked shots.

Senior guard Abby Ward contributed 6 points, 6 steals and 5 assists for East. Senior Miller Heustess added 6 points and 3 assists.

Moore-Peterson dropped in a trio of baskets in the first quarter as East Bladen built a 17-9 lead. Ward and Heustess threw in 2 baskets each in the period.

Suggs sank a trio of free throws and added a basket in the second quarter as the Lady Eagles widened their lead to 30-16 at halftime. Cromartie netted 2 baskets in the period.

Hardin worked the paint for a trio of baskets in the third quarter as East Bladen kept the margin at 41-27. A trio of Suggs free throws and buckets by Cromartie and Hardin in the final quarter preserved the victory.

Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles remained unbeaten at 5-0 in the league and 15-0 overall. East Bladen will travel to Union next Friday night after the exam break.
