ELIZABETHTOWN – Sophomore Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson fired in 19 points, and East Bladen’s defense smothered Heide Trask as the Lady Eagles rolled to a 53-11 Four County Conference girls basketball victory Wednesday night.

Moore-Peterson threw in a trio of first quarter baskets and made a free throw as the Lady Eagles raced to a 16-4 lead. Junior Shardajah Brown contributed 2 baskets in the quarter.

Senior Emily Scott battled inside for 6 points in the second quarter. Freshman Patience Ward drove for a trio of second period baskets. Moore-Peterson pumped in 3 more baskets as the Lady Eagles shutout the Lady Titans in the quarter and exploded their lead to 37-4 with a 21-0 blitz.

Three more Moore-Peterson baskets helped East Bladen widen the lead to 47-7 after 3 periods.

Moore-Peterson filled the stat sheet with 5 assists, 7 rebounds and 6 steals. Ward scored 12 points and was credited with 6 steals. Scott tossed in 8 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 3 assists.

Brown finished with 6 points, and senior Yolanda Coston pulled down 7 rebounds and came up with 4 steals. Sophomore Ashley Hardin grabbed 7 rebounds.

Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles improved to 10-3 overall and 3-1 in the Four County Conference.  East Bladen will travel to Wallace-Rose Hill Friday night.
