Junior Lacey Suggs blistered the nets with 27 points Tuesday night to lead undefeated East Bladen to a 60-39 Four County Conference victory at Heide Trask.
Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles improved to 11-0 in the conference and 21-0 overall. East Bladen is again ranked No. 1 in NC Preps.com’s Class 2-A Girls State Poll.
Suggs also dished out 5 assists and came up with 5 steals to help lead the East Bladen defense.
Junior point guard Abby Ward drained a trio of 3-point shots and finished with 15 points for the winners. Ward matched Suggs’ 5 steals and was credited with 3 assists.
Senior Abby Norris tossed in 12 points, pulled down 8 rebounds, blocked 2 shots and came up with 3 steals for East.
East Bladen built a 14-10 first period lead and outscored the Lady Titans 16-12 in the second quarter to widen the gap to 30-22 at halftime.
The Lady Eagles broke the game open with a 24-8 third quarter blitz that produced a 54-30 lead.
Shawntia Green topped the Trask scoring with 13 points, and Saniyyah McAllister followed with 11 points.
East Bladen will host Wallace-Rose Hill Friday night in their final home game of the regular season. A Lady Eagle win clinches the top seed in the conference tournament for East Bladen.
