ROSE HILL – Senior Shardajah Brown and sophmore Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson combined for 35 points to lead East Bladen’s Lady Eagles to a 60-26 Four County Conference girls basketball victory over Union.

Brown lit up the scoreboard with a game-high 20 points, and Moore-Peterson racked up 15 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Sophmore Ashley Hardin filled the stat sheet with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.

Freshman Patience Ward just missed a double-double with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 6 steals. Teammates Kaley Smith and Lorna Mendell pulled down 5 rebounds each.

“Brown had a big shooting night for us, and the offense was very patient to get good shots,” said Lady Eagle Coach Patty Evers. “Hardin did a great job at the point with 5 assists, and Ward did a good job on the boards!”

Moore-Peterson pumped in 2 baskets and drilled a 3-point shot in the first quarter as East Bladen rallied to an 18-3 lead. Brown and Hardin threw in 2 baskets each, and Ward added a basket.

Brown took charge in the second quarter by draining a 3-point shot and a trio of 2-point shots. Ward netted 2 baskets, and Moore Peterson threw in a basket as the Lady Eagles rolled to a 33-11 halftime lead.

Moore-Peterson tossed in a pair of baskets in the third quarter, and Ward, senior Emily Scott and sophmore Anna Kate White sank a basket each as the lead swelled to 43-17.

Brown delivered another 3-point shot and a pair of 2-point baskets in the fourth quarter. Hardin connected for a pair of baskets, and Smith and senior Justyna Gargala chipped in with a basket each. Moore-Peterson hit 2 free throws.

Ashanti Corbett led the Union scoring with 10 points.

The Lady Eagles, now 11-2 in league play and 19-4 overall, will travel to West Bladen Thursday night.
