RED SPRINGS – East Bladen’s Lady Eagles raced to leads of 32-13 and 52-23 Tuesday night en route to a 63-36 Southeastern Athletic Conference girls’ basketball victory over Red Springs.
Junior AnnaGrey Heustess topped the East Bladen scoring with 12 points and added 4 steals and 4 rebounds. Senior Alexus Mitchell contributed 11 points, 5 steals and 4 assists. Senior Maya McDonald dished out a team-high 6 assists to go with 8 points and 4 steals.
Freshman Iveonna “NeNe” Ward filled up the stat sheet with 8 points, a team-high 8 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 assists. Freshman Laila Smith totaled 8 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Junior Maegan Burney tossed in 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds, and sophomore Zoe Smith pumped in 5 points.
Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles improved to 7-1 in SAC-7 play and 18-1 overall. East Bladen will host league-leading St. Pauls Friday night.
