WHITEVILLE – Senior Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson poured in 29 points Tuesday night to lead East Bladen to a 66-45 Three Rivers Conference girls basketball victory over Whiteville.
The Lady Eagles edged ahead of the stubborn Lady Wolfpack 11-10 in the first quarter and stretched their lead to 25-21 at halftime.
An 18-9 East Bladen blitz in the third period opened up a 43-30 lead, and the Lady Eagles outscored Whiteville 23-15 in the final quarter.
Senior Erica McKoy pumped in 12 points for the winners, and junior Patience Ward tossed in 9 points. Freshman Mya McDonald followed with 8 points, and senior Anna Kate White added 6 points.
Trinity Smith led the Lady Wolfpack scoring with 18 points, and I’Reona Johnson followed with 10 points.
Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles remain unbeaten in the TRC with an 11-0 league record and 16-1 overall mark. East Bladen will host South Columbus Friday night.
